PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:win 2k
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:Compac 5005SR   
Intel PIII 933 MHz
128MB ram
60 GB Hard Drive
DVD- ROM
CD-RW
Logitech QuickCam Express
65k Modem
10/100mb PCI NIC


Error Messages: This machine suffered a disk faliure, I replaced the 60gb hard drive with a 80gb Maxtor, I replaced the os with 2K about a month ago. this has NOT been hooked up to the net...Ok with all that said, the mouse will freeze at times and I must reboot to correct the problem. What do y'all think?

What kind of mouse is it? You may need to install drivers for it (not if it's a generic ball mouse with 2 buttons, but if it's an optical mouse you need to install drivers).

it is just a standard mouse, but I do have another one. I'll try it tomorrow, thanks

I tried a different mouse, still same problem...mouse will not work when sys is booted, then reboot and it may or may not work?Huh???
