PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:WinXP SP1
Problem Application Name & Version:Nail.exe, auroraco.exe abetterinternet
Problem Hardware Make & Model:Fujitsu lifebook S-5582
Error Messages:

Seem that I was hit by these malwares and I ran Trend Micro online scan, Ad-aware and Spybot S&D as recommended.  Java.bytever.a was found by the Trend Micro run but I was unable to delete it. I had also used AVG but seems it is no good neither.  Here is the Hijackthis log I have just ran, your help would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks for the quick response.  I did the scan and I couldn't believer how many files were found infected.  Anyway, there is one infected file that was unable to remove, namely explorer.exe because it is embedded in the archive explorer.cab/explorer.exe.  What should I do for this??  Below is the latest hijackthis log after cleaning my computer with ewido, thanks in anticipation.

Hello again sorry for the delay

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the HJT procedures below.

Download / Install / Update / and Run:
Adaware SE check for any updates before running it.
Get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. You can download it at this SITE
To run this tool, install to the hard drive, then open Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection.

Scan your pc with one of these free online scanners:
Panda ActiveScan
RAV AntiVirus
Housecall.  Be sure to put a check the box beside AutoClean.

Download: DelDomains.inf  - Right-click and select: Save Target As
To use: right-click and select: Install (no need to restart)

The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there.  Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. You will use this later.

Go to My Computer >Tools >Folder Options >View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing / visible. Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files option.

Reboot your system in Safe Mode (By repeatedly tapping the F8 key until the menu appears).

Click > Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs and uninstall the following programs:

Target Saver
A-ToolBar

Open Hijack This and click on Scan. Check the following entries (make sure you do not miss any)

Hi, thanks for the very detail guide.  A few questions b4 I start the acutal cleaning:
1) I had Adaware installed but I couldn't get the update becuase the patch cannot be read, what should I do?
2)There are some files that none of those online scanners can heal, any recommendations?
3)I cannot detect Target Saver in Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs, can I just ignore that?
4)I cannot find the below line in my hjt log, is that ok?
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://www.neededware.com
5)I ain't sure who is NameServer = 218.102.32.208 205.252.144.126, how can I check that out?

Thank you very much!!!!!:-*

1) I had Adaware installed but I couldn't get the update becuase the patch cannot be read, what should I do?

Delete the defs.ref file from
Default: C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Personal

and then open Ad-aware SE,

An error will be produced stating that there is no definition file or an error has occured.
Now try an update!

If you wish not to delete it, you could rename the file:
defs.ref.old

2)There are some files that none of those online scanners can heal, any recommendations?
Depends on what the files are?
3)I cannot detect Target Saver in Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs, can I just ignore that?
Yes
4)I cannot find the below line in my hjt log, is that ok?
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://www.neededware.com
Make sure you follow the DelDomains.inf instructions
5)I ain't sure who is NameServer = 218.102.32.208 205.252.144.126, how can I check that out?
Don't have HJT fix it

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the HJT procedures below.

Go to My Computer >Tools >Folder Options >View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing / visible. Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files option.

Please download Nailfix

Reboot your system in Safe Mode (By repeatedly tapping the F8 key until the menu appears).

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.bat. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Open Hijack This and click on Scan. Check the following entries (make sure you do not miss any)
