PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:XP
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model: Printer
Error Messages: None


My friend has just installed windows Xp (not sure if home or proffessional).  He would like to know please how to install things like printers and scanners using the manufacturers disk and not by xp looking for its own drivers.

Is anyone able to help please?

Hello and Welcome to MyTechSupport.ca

Select the button "Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location" (or "Browse") when the Hardware Wizards launches. On that next screen there is a button called "Have Disk" clikc that and have the cd in the rom.
Or you could point it to the cd drive that the cd is in
