PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:Windows XP
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\rundll32.exe Application not found.

I'm using Windows XP and whilst online I received a warning from the AV Personal Virus thingy that it had detected some trojan nasty and what do i wish to do about it.
I clicked, delete it, another window popped up, i didn't pay much attention (mainly because i'm not very savvy when it comes to using computors) and i hit delete again.

I found out to my horror i'd deleted C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\rundll32.exe.

Now i can't use loads of programmes or open control Panel applications etc. So,I downloaded and unzipped rundll32.exe into C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 thinking in my ignorance that would solve the problem, but,to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas on what my next step should be?.
I do not have the windows xp disc to work from.
All advice will be greatly appreciated.

Do a repair installation

Set the comp to boot from cd first in the bios
Place the xp cd in cdrom and reboot
Boot from the xp cd and choose install
Ignore the first repair option and continue with install
When windows finds the previous installation and offers to repair
then do the repair
If you have xp sp2 installed it needs to be incorporated into your xp disk or it will not offer the repair option only the clean install

How to perform a Repair Installation of Windows XP
