PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION
Operating System Version:
Problem Application Name & Version]Outlook Express Program

/
When someone sends an email to me and also to others, my identity shows up with my name and email address, whereas the others show up simply as, e.g. "Joe Smith", "Cindy", "Mary Brown".

I tried to change my identity by following the directions given.  It says to go to Outlook Express, Tools, and then point to the name of my Messenger Server.  However, I don't see the name of my Messenger server at all, so I can't continue.  The next steps are to click on Options, etc., but I can't seem to get that far.  Any ideas?

I'd rather not have my email address showing all the time!

Thanks for your advice.

Select Tools>Accounts... from the menu.
Go to the Mail tab.
Highlight the desired email account.
Click Properties.
Make sure the General tab is selected.
Type the name you want to appear in the From: line of your emails in the Name: field under User Information.
Click OK.
Now click Close.
