os is win xp sp2, using verizon dsl westell 2200 modem and linksys wireless router. hardwired pc and 2 wireless laptops. set modem to bridge and router to pppoe as per directions. computers can see each other and router. can access my aol account as well as aim, but cannot access any websited on ie or firefox?? have no clue where to go from here.

See if you can get to (google). It sounds like your router/firewall is blocking DNS which would explain why you can connect to AOL and AIM, but not the internet.
